Carol
Ann Makris has been developing her skills
and knowledge of the art world for the past 27 years. She studied Fine
Art at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY, and completed her
formal education in the Illustration Dept. at Parsons School of
Design, NYC, in 1983. The next seventeen years were spent working as a
staff and freelance illustrator in various design studios in
Manhattan. Her niche was in the giftware industry.
Carol's interest in home decor gradually became her
passion and focus. The past few years have been spent studying
paint techniques and effects with the best products available, and
applying her artistic talents to projects that embellish and
personalize a space.
Carol's technique and business sense was further
enhanced after attending a rigorous course at The Faux Finish School
in Louisville, KY.
Carol won the "The most creative use of Faux and Decorative Finish,
Mural, Trompe l'oeil, or Stenciling Application Project" award at
the prestigious
Faucademy
of Decorative Finishing Awards in 2004.
